Special Education Teacher
Specialized Youth Services of Virginia has a full-time special education teaching position in Petersburg, VA. Candidates must possess (or be eligible for) a Virginia teacher license, preferably with ED endorsement. Specialized Youth Services of Virginia offers a competitive salary, supportive work environment and generous benefits, including group medical, 401(k), and tuition reimbursement.
Support Teacher
To assist classroom teacher with providing supervision and instruction to assigned students. Responsibilities include monitoring students’ behavior and behavioral program, and supporting the teacher’s instructions.
Candidate will have a minimum of two years college with a Bachelor’s Degree preferred or experience as a teacher’s aide. Must demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills, the ability to set limits and motivate desired behaviors, the ability to deal successfully with aggressive behaviors and the ability to develop and maintain constructive working relationships with co-workers, teachers, referral sources and students.
This is for school year position only. Must have a valid Virginia Driver’s License and a driving record in good standing. Applicant must pass Child Protective Services and State and Federal criminal background checks.
